About the ACPA / NASPA Competencies
In July of 2010, both NASPA's Board and ACPA's Governing Board endorsed the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practicioners. This document outlines the ten competency
areas for professionals in the field of student affairs. As part of the College Student Personnel Program, graduate students must demonstrate competence in each area as acceptable,
proficient, or exemplary. In this section of my website, I will rate my competency level in
each of the areas as well as allow you to explore some of the work that I have accomplished.
Proficient.
This section holds the competency areas that I believe I have demonstrated "advance level of knowledge...through competence derived from training and practice."
Acceptable.
This section holds the competency areas that I believe I have demonstrated performance at a basic level. Also, these areas will be further developed through my Professional Development Plan.
Exemplary.
This section holds the competency areas that I believe I have "demonstrated performance" at a "high-level."
